Nintendo has confirmed that over 300,000 game accounts have been compromised after initially reporting 160,000 were breached.
The information exposed includes the account owner’s name, email address, date-of-birth and their country of residence.
The company updated the figures after continuing investigation post the initial breach, and Nintendo has confirmed it has contacted customers and changed passwords for those accounts that have been breached.
The news initially surfaced in March when users noticed charges for digital items without their consent. Nintendo has since said the best way to combat fraud is to enable two-factor authentication on their accounts.
